OMG, I couldn't believe it this morning when I went to fill up my tank. I have to use premium gas, so am already forced to pay 20 cents more per gallon than I'd rather, but this morning I was heading back from Daytona Beach, and practically burst into tears when I saw that the price had jumped to $4.17 per gallon. When I drove into Daytona on Tuesday, I was shocked that it was $3.99 per gallon... who would've ever thought I'd regret not filling up at those prices?
I can't imagine how high it's going to go, but it's getting too expensive to even do "free" things, like drive across town to hang out at a friend's house. Just to get from my house to downtown Orlando is now an $8 round-trip... not counting the $1 I pay in tolls.
It's getting to the point where Americans are going to start having to live in multi-family dwellings. I live alone, and have for years, but the prices keep skyrocketing, and income keeps dwindling... I'm not sure where all of this will lead, but it's not looking good. I may have to get another roommate if things don't turn around.
